Taizhou is located in the middle of the coastal line of Zhejiang Province . It is to the south of Shanghai and close to Ningbo and Wenzhou City . Taizhou covers 9411 square kilometers and have a population of 5.5 million. Plastics industry is one of Taizhou's key industries. Started in the 50s, shaped in the 80s, the industry had got fast development in the 90s of the 20th century. According to the statistics of 2003, there were 10081 plastic enterprises with total sales of 22.3 billion yuan and total raw material consumption of 2.8 million tons. More than 140 thousand people were employed in the plastics industry, and 9551 of them were engineers. A complete industrial chain that combines plastic products, raw materials, machines, moulds and dies has formed.
